Dear Editor,

I don’t know you, I don’t know what motivates you, and I don’t know if you subscribe to the same beliefs as me, but I feel like I owe you and every one of our fighting men and women who have come home in some form or another from any war. I live in New York City, and every time I pass through Grand Central Station, I see soldiers, and I know that everybody passing through Grand Central owes you at least a handshake and a thank you.

I don’t trust many people to tell me the truth. I’ve lived in Bethesda, MD from 1981 – 1993, and in that period of time, I’ve developed a sharp sense of smell for BS. I take issue with your endorsed links to The Washington Post and to The McLaughlin Group. 2 Dinar is one of the few sources I will trust implicitly to tell me the straight poop.

You could have looked forward to a life considerably more comfortable than Meals Rejected by the Enemy once your tours of duty were up, but you continue to fight the good fight. You could have done your best to distance yourself from whatever horrors you endured, but you embody a rare sense of civic duty not just as a citizen, but as someone who continues to fight for the truth. I salute you.

As you described it exactly, the writers and I at 2 Dinar DO see this webzine as a continuation of our service. We're fighting to spread democracy... in the United States.

I definitely agree with you that some of the Op-Eds can get pretty annoying. But John McLaughlin, every week, gets it right on Iraq/Afghanistan (to an uncanny degree). We endorse The Washington Post because Thomas Ricks, who we consider to be the best military reporter around, is on their staff.
