His apology, I assume, stems from his own feelings of inadequacy as he represents America to citizens of other nations. I can understand and even excuse that.
What's inexcusable is speaking for servicemen if you yourself have never served. Hell, I've been off of active duty for just four years, and I don't feel right speaking for the soldiers and Marines that serve in Iraq today because I feel too removed from their experience. What a crock.
